Sahel is an amazing tutor! My son says she's helped clarify so many physics concepts and really provided him with a great understanding of complex problems in his class at UCLA this summer!

Sahel is an excellent, patient, and flexible tutor! She really helped my daughter in physics and trigonometry as well as my son in Algebra. I really appreciate her professional manner and sweet spirit.

Sahel is super smart, patient, and a wonderful tutor. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs to work on their math skills. Five stars.

I had forgotten a lot of math concepts and Sahel helped me brush up in time for the GRE. I just got my first acceptance letter back from one of the grad schools I applied to, and I highly recommend Sahel for any math tutoring!

Sahel has always been helpful to my daughters. She is patient, sweet, helpful, knowledgeable, and punctual. Sahel brought to my attention that this year the girls were placed in a lower level math class than their ability. Thanks to her, my girls were able to move up from 8th grade math to Algebra. We all love her. I would highly recommend her.

Sahel not only cares about my son's success while she's tutoring him, but she also follows up on her own unpaid time, to email him exercises to practice during the days he doesn't see her. We absolutely love Sahel and highly recommend her to anyone who's in need of a great Algebra/Biology tutor.

Sahel is a great tutor who is always punctual and puts you at ease. She is able to simplify complex problems and provides a thorough explanation to enable you to grasp challenging mathematical concepts. I would highly recommend her.

Sahel was a wonderful Honors Calculus teacher. She was very knowledgeable, and once presented with the problems at hand, was able to help my daughter figure them out right away. Very patient and kind.

Sahel is very thorough, patient, and professional. She is always on time. She is a great teacher and is knowledgeable. My daughter is very lucky that I took the time and found her!

Sahel is a wonderful tutor and I am so happy that she is working with my daughter on calculus. She is also very easy to work with.

Sahel is punctual, pleasant, prepared, knowledgeable, and experienced. She tutored my 5th grade daughter to prepare for a Milliken math exam. I was able to give her topics, and she took it from there. She understood exactly what she needed, and she made good use of her time. We will definitely ask her to tutor again.

Sahel is an excellent algebra tutor. She is always on time, friendly, patient and smart. My daughter LOVES her... and so do I.

We've tried several tutors for our son and we are so happy to finally have found Sahel. She is patient, clear in her explanations and thorough in the work. Our son improved significantly in his first exam after one lesson with Sahel and has continued to increase his grades. We could not have found anyone better!

Sahel is patient and knowledgeable. My 8th grade daughter and my fifth grade son both love working with her. She is kind and really knows how to explain things to give them both a better understanding of the material they are working on.

Sahel is a bright and intelligent person who is very knowledgeable. She is able to take complex mathematic concepts and break them down step by step in order for the student to have a better understanding of the problem. She's very punctual and flexible with her schedule. Therefore, setting up a lesson time to meet with her for tutoring was no problem. Sahel is kind and patient which helped put me at ease in understanding Geometry. She's a terrific tutor and I would recommend Sahel to anybody who needs tutoring in Mathematics.

Although she wasn't familiar with the MCAT physics portion, she was a good tutor. I would definitely use her again if I didn't find a tutor who specializes in the MCAT.

Sahel is extremely educated and works with my high schooler with fun, but lets him know she is serious about her lessons with him. She needs no interaction with the parent but once and jumps right in and takes over just like a true professional. I have no doubt my son will soar through the end of 12th grade with her. Brilliant!!!

Sahel went above and beyond her requirements for the assignment. She is an excellent tutor, really knows her subject and was happy to help me. She conducted the session by e-mail and phone so no matter where you are on the planet, use Sahel! By the way, she contacted me at the exact moment she was supposed to and she sent me wonderful notes that we discussed.

I am taking an unbelievably difficult Astronomy course! My professor has very high expectations for students, who are given limited instruction. That is where Sahel came into the picture. She knows the material already, and does not need to refer back to the book. I recommend her!

Sahel's sessions have really helped me. She breaks down each problem step by step so I can understand. It's always a pleasure and not to mention she's always on time! A++

Sahel is a wonderful tutor!! She was able to squeeze me in last minute for a large numbers of hours to study for my astronomy midterm. I'm not a science person, but Sahel was able to break down the material in a way that made sense to me. She was very patient and made sure we kept up a good pace-- we got an incredible amount of review done in a very short period of time! Sahel is super friendly and made me feel as ease the moment I sat down with her. Before meeting with Sahel I was worried that I might not pass the class. Now, not only do I have a grade I never thought I could get, but I thoroughly understand the material. I highly recommend Sahel: she's the best!

Sahel is bright and energetic, a great match for my son who was struggling with Algebra. He has a renewed love for math with Sahel's assistance. His grade has soared.

My experience with Sahel was excellent. She made a project I thought to be difficult very clear and she explained things in a way that I totally understood.

My daughter has used Sahel as a precalculus tutor since 1/13/13 (so far, 17 sessions) and our experience with her has been Great. Both my daughter and I have found Sahel to be intelligent, professional, patient, flexible and possesses excellent communication skills. Sahel has always understood the precalculus problems my daughter has presented to her and takes the extra time necessary to make sure my daughter fully understands the steps in order to complete them. As a busy parent, there have been several occasions in which I have had to change my daughter's appointment time or completely reschedule her appointment all together. Sahel has always done her best to accommodate my busy schedule and find the time to tutor my daughter, especially before a test date. Sahel tries to make my daughter, who has a difficult time with math, feel comfortable and has improved her confidence level considerably. Sahel not only understands my daughter's needs but communicates well with her. Also, Sahel has always communicated well with me, whether it has been to confirm an appointment time or inform me of any scheduling conflict. I would highly recommend Sahel as a math tutor to anyone seeking the qualities I have listed above.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Differential equations are mathematical statements relating the rate of change (or derivative) of a function to the function itself. Linear Algebra works great for modeling static situations, but more interesting phenomena in the real world include changing variables such as temperature, volume, population, etc. To understand these more interesting physical situations, one needs to find the differential equation describing the situation, be able to solve for the exact or approximate solution of it and also be able to interpret what that solution means.

I have taken two semesters of advanced mathematics courses in differential equations and boundary value problems as an undergraduate. More importantly, I have had years of practice with applications of differential equations. Many physics problems are modeled and solved using differential equations and as a physics major I am proficient in solving such problems.

Simplest mechanic and circuit problems such as damped or driven harmonic oscillator and LC or RLC circuits require knowledge of differential equations and how to solve them. As a physics teaching assistant and tutor, I have helped my students with mathematical background skills they needed (such as 1st, 2nd, and higher order homogeneous and non-homogeneous differential equations) to solve these problems.

Linear Algebra is concerned with solving systems of algebraic linear equations. In introductory linear algebra, this is done using the technique of elimination which works for systems of two or three equations. However, when more than three equations need to be solved simultaneously, one needs to begin using arrays and matrices. Thus, central to linear algebra is the study of matrices and how to perform basic operation such as matrix multiplication. The notion of vector space and subspace becomes important and Eigenvalue problems will be introduced in more advanced linear algebra courses.

Quantum physics uses the language of linear algebra where wave functions and operators are described using abstract vectors and linear transformations respectively.

I have taken courses that thought linear algebra in high school and in university. I have also taken graduate level quantum courses which gave me advanced knowledge of the language of linear algebra.

As a teaching assistant and tutor in the subject of quantum mechanics for two semesters in UMN, I have helped my students with mathematical background skills they need in quantum physics such as working with N-dimensional vector space and calculating eigenvalues and eigenfunctions for various operators.

Physics is the study of our universe and how it works and it has many different branches.

Introductory physics courses will include Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Thermal Physics, Quantum Physics and Relativity.

A list of most common topics in mechanics include motion in two and three dimensional space, circular motion, force and torque, energy, power, Newton's laws, Kepler's laws, linear and angular momentum and their conservations and the gravitational force.

A list of most common topics in electromagnetism include Coulomb's law, Gauss's law, Biot-Savart law, Ampere's law, Lorentz force law, Faraday's law and Maxwell's equations.

A list of most common topics in thermal physics include the three thermodynamic laws, entropy and discussion of engines.
