I am an independent contract tutor through WyzAnt, Inc. and possess a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Education from California State University, Long Beach. I am eligible to tutor English, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, SAT writing, writing, and proofreading. My tutoring assessment scores on the WyzAnt website are above-average in language arts. My ultimate goal with this company is to help my clients discover the intrinsic motivation to improve in their writing, reading, and proofreading skills.
My potential students will implement brainstorming, study skills, and research ideologies into their learning lifestyle. We will embark on language and writing exercises and incorporate proper grammar usage in all of our work. Reading essays and developing critical thinking skills will provide brain food to thrive on. My students will discover that "where there's a will, there's a way."
I have maintained a strong sense of language arts and grammar usage throughout my professional career. My scholarly approach has included extensive language research, free writing language exercises, and incorporating the use of proper vocabulary. I am exuberant about continuous education and discovering ways to help others improve themselves.
I embarked on my initial professional tutoring career with a company called Professional Tutors of America in June 12, 2001. Time-management, scheduling, congeniality, patience, and perseverance were instrumental to my language arts success here. I provided the utmost professionalism during all tutoring sessions and taught effective means of editing, proofreading, and sentence structure. When my clients applied these basic principles, they saw an increase in their grades by one letter mark!
I furthered my career as a tutor when I accepted a position as an independent contract tutor through the Los Angeles County Department of Education on July, 20, 2004. I conglomerated my prior experience from college, tutoring assignments, and library research into many enriching learning sessions with my students. I made it a number one priority to provide all the tools necessary for success: writing worksheets, vocabulary hand-outs, and reading material.
In conclusion, I am extremely excited to work for WyzAnt, Inc. I am open to any questions or suggestions about my ideologies and teaching tools. The goal is for my clients to feel comfortable, confident, and improve as students. The objective is to foster a practical learning environment that prepares them for a bright future. Tutoring can improve morale and self-respect and I do not allow a single hour, minute, or second go by without sincere dedication to my work. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
