(B.A.) Arizona State University - (Currently Pursuing) (mechanical engineer)
Hello my name is Andrei. I am currently enrolled at Arizona State University looking to continue my education and eventually graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering. I am proficient in most studies and obviously have a more advanced understanding in the ones that are related to my degree (math physics and lower level English, biology and chemistry.) Unlike most tutors I feel I have world experience that would contribute to just about any subject. Directly after graduating high school I chose to volunteer to serve a service mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons). I served in Piura, Peru (a Spanish speaking country in South America). At the time I had only taken basic high school Spanish and was about to embark to a foreign country for 2 years without the slightest idea on how to communicate. For those that don't know much about these missions, I can say that I lived within a well structured lifestyle that taught me many things about life. One of the things I learned was how to study, within 4 months I was able to speak the Spanish language. By the end of the 2 years many believed that I was Peruvian by my accent and knowledge of the Spanish language. I attribute my success in learning not only the Spanish language, but other subjects, now that I am in school, to a well thought our lesson plan and also attacking the subject from different angles until I have a firm understanding of the material.
I do believe that not only does my experience prove my Spanish background it will also help to establish that I know what it feels like to struggle with a subject. To literally not understand in the slightest what people are trying to say to me, and I also know the feeling of overcoming that deficit and excelling in that very subject to the point of excellence. As a missionary it was also our job to teach, day in and day out prepare lessons and help understand the needs of those we were teaching, obviously the subjects will be very different but i feel like the teaching will be the same. I am willing to take the time to understand your needs and do whatever I can to guide you in way that you will best understand. Hello my name is Andrei. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
