I have taught in public education for over 34 years and have a lot of experience helping students. I am a retired teacher and have always considered teaching as a vocation, not just a job. I have the knowledge, concern and skills to help you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have earned my M.A in History. And I am a certificated teacher who is certified to teach elementary grades 1-6 I have taken special ed. And I am a certificated teacher for grades K-12 in California.
I studied Latin for 6 years translating Greek and Latin texts into English, as well as reading" Antigone",The" Iliad", and "Odyssey", by Homer.
I have read Gibbons, "The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire."
I have a Master's degree in History. My Thesis was on the historical validity of Thomas Moore's" Utopia". I can read Latin and translate it.
I have been a public school certificated teacher for 34 years.
I have a k-12 multi-subject teaching credential in California valid until 2017
I have national certification in "No Child Left Behind."
I have my CLAD culture language and development certification
I have had continuous continuing Ed training in multiple areas all throughout my career.
I have trained student teachers through Chapman University here in California and Cleveland State University when I taught in Ohio.
I have a CLAD certification. And I have a Multi-subject K-12 credentialCA. I also am a Retired public school elementary teacher.
I have taught all grade levels up to grade 8 for 34 years. Phonics is the basis of all reading .To teach slow learners at any level you have to know phonemic awareness,blending,consonant and vowel sounds ,especially in primary grades and with second language learners. I also have my CLAD credential from the state of California as well as my No Child Left Behind certification. I can teach phonics especially to second language learners.I use a variety of hands on materials.
