About Jason

When I was in high school, I hated history. I hated it because it was just a collection of timelines. I never cared about the who and the when or even the what. Finally, I had a professor ask me how things on those timelines were connected. Everything is a because of something else.

If you approach the social sciences as if you are in them instead of just an observer, the content becomes much more interesting and dynamic. This makes understanding easier and increases grades.

I did my student teaching at Marina High School in Huntington Beach teaching both Economics and government. The economics was way outside of my comfort zone at the time. While I have mastered the content, this experience has allowed me to empathize with the high school senior that is being introduced to foreign content and this allows me to break things down into simple, easy to understand chunks.

You will never find someone that can get you interested in history like I can. While I may not change your mind and make you love it, you will at least see the value in it. I am known for being the most enthusiastic and interactive teacher on the campus.

Put your mind at ease and see how simple that we can make this.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Social Studies

I have a single subject credential issued by the California Department of Education in Social Sciences.
