After receiving my BA in Communicative Disorders, my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with CLAD emphasis, and my MA in Education I began my teaching career. I have experience working in special education and also as a substitute teacher. Working in special education has taught me multiple strategies that are useful in regular education too! Working as a substitute teacher has provided me with the valuable knowledge needed to work with all age groups. I have had the benefit of working in a variety of successfully run classrooms and have learned so much from those experiences!
I am a fun, outgoing, and animated teacher who creates appropriate and engaging lessons. The key to successful teaching is building a rapport with students. i have experience teaching Math from K-8th grade. I struggled with math as a child and learned important strategies to overcome those set backs. In addition to my Multiple Subject Credential I have almost completed my Ed Specialist credential. The curriculum for an Ed Specialist Credential includes strategies for teaching Math.
I have experience teaching English in K-8 classrooms. I have a special interest in English & Literature and love teaching grammar too! I have many strategies to make learning English easy!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
