Through the process of yoga we learn to focus our intention on what we want to manifest in our lives. Once we learn to focus our mind during practice it becomes easier to narrow down our intentions into something tangible. Not only do we learn to release tension in our bodies but we learn to drop the constraining thoughts that constantly swarm around our heads. When we drop the useless negativity we cling on to, we open space to invite in the new, relevant thoughts and processes. Iyengar first introduced the thought that when we inhale we take strength in from god and when we exhale it represents the service we are giving to the world. The same can be said for taking in the good as we rise and releasing the bad as we fold or fall. The eight limbs of yoga include seven more principles other than the asana (postures) which are crucial for the teacher to introduce to the student for growth in practice. Teaching the postures of yoga has a basic blueprint while instructing another human body: where are you moving from, where are you going, and how are you going to get there. So you cannot explain how to get there without knowing where you are going. Keeping things simple and knowing the way each asana feels in your body is crucial if you are planning on teaching another human body. I help other yogis that just want to enhance their practice as well as future teachers undergoing training. The first rule to both is that they have to feel good. I have completed 200 hours of RYT Training from YogaWorks under Nona C. and Thoman Taubman & Harmony Yoga under Chappel F.. I also am traditionally trained in body work and alignment, Yoga Psychology and Yoga for depression through Swami Anarupata from the ATMA center. I have completed training through YogaFit under Beth S.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
