San Diego State University (Master's)
I am a recent graduate from San Diego State University where I completed the Master of Science degree program in Homeland Security. Attending a graduate program in Homeland Security provides the knowledge necessary to choose a career position that allows me to serve and protect the vulnerable victims of human injustices and paves their way to recovery.
While in college, I worked continuously for all four years, with my skill sets growing in many areas. My employment includes work at two law firms, where my duties were primarily administrative covering all areas of general office work as well as speaking with clients and solving situations on short notice. I gained insight into the world of corporate law as well as Civil Litigation.
I worked diligently at my internship as a Program Organizer for a non-profit group where I designed a curriculum that recruits and assists local teens to reach out in their communities and make a difference. This experience has proven my ability to effectively communicate with people of all ages and in all areas of business, from our local leaders to the people on my team.
I volunteered my time with the World Relief Organization by helping a Sudanese family assimilate into the American culture. I taught them, through hands on interaction, how to do everything from operating their appliances and grocery shopping to making use of the public transportation system. Much time was spent teaching them English in both a classroom setting and throughout their day. My goal was to empower them to live a normal life here in their new home.
As a current Intern within the Truman National Security Project, I have worked diligently to support the initiative NoExceptions, which seeks to ensure equal gender inclusion into the armed forces. While serving in the role as West Coast Intern, I have worked closely with the Chapter Co-Director on a myriad of projects. I have experience as a special assistant to heads of Truman and been involved with multiple meetings regarding fundraising and campaigning.
My degree fields are not only related to politics and internal affairs but focus greatly on critical issues abroad. It is my desire to pursue a profession that enables me to work either in the political arena affecting change and protecting individuals or else serving those same individuals in a hands on opportunity researching various foreign affairs. While I finish my thesis, I hope to continue helping and connecting with others by sharing my love of learning with the next generation.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
