Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have taught calculus at college level and can help.

I have taught Common Core lessons in math in public schools at high school level.

I have taught calculus at college level. Calculus might be challenging for High School students and that's a good thing. It is easier to learn to think efficiently at younger age and the skills will stay longer sooner it is learned.

What makes Calculus challenging is that all the teachers who had to lower the bars for students so at least 80% of students are getting a passing grades, because the system works this way. The next year teacher does a lot of reteaching and the system will send many students out with High School Diploma.

In a calculus class there is no time to reteach algebra, geometry, algebra 2.

Students are faced with new knowledge that has all previous math subjects as prerequisites.

The challenge is not so much that students do not know Algebra1, Geometry, etc. The challenge is to make these perquisites work together to make an orchestra and let the brain be the conductor.

Knowing math sometimes become insufficient as knowing each instrument might not be enough to be a conductor. Each piece of prerequisites should be used to help the thinking process as solutions might be just around the corner, but only the right piece of information at the right time can lead the way, the rest might be more of an obstacle than help.

I can help you to improve your thinking process. I cannot think for you as you need to learn to think by yourself. That's one of the advantages of learning math.

I have full math credential issued by state of California, including Trigonometry.
