My background was pre-med/pharm at UC Berkeley with focus on Biochemistry. I completed all undergrad math/biology/chemistry/physics. I left after three years for personal reasons and joined the retail industry. After management at Ross, Target, shoe boutiques, and Nordstrom, I am now at Neiman Marcus. I regret leaving school, however, that path allows me to appreciate the value of education and the opportunities it brings. That real life experience opens my perspective to business and now I am back in school to pursue my business degree while working full-time. My goal is an MBA in accounting and become a Certified Public Accountant.
My experience with tutoring was throughout high school because I was always in Honors and AP classes for all subjects and graduated second of my class. In Berkeley, I continued the tradition with volunteer groups at public schools, library, and even Sunday school in Vietnamese. I have 4-10 students with me throughout the year. Two have been with me since intermediate school and going on 5th year. I am up to date with current curriculum of all math and science levels from basic to calculus (regular/honors/AP) chemistry (regular/honors/AP) in both public and private schools from San Ramon, to Orinda, and to Concord. I am also do SAT prep regularly.
The retail experience taught me valuable lessons such as humble and humility while maintaining confidence and integrity to deliver the best service in all situations. That is something I will apply to my approach, techniques, and methods for tutoring as well. Update 3/14/15 - currently accepting students

Chinh is terrific! My son had a make up exam for honors chem and did very well after the tutoring session. He was more confident in his understanding of the concepts and approach to problem solving. Chinh goes above and beyond. He wrote notes for my son on how to better organize, created extra problems with step by step instructions on how to arrive at the answer and set up the next lesson plan. He also calls my son to follow up with him to see if he has any questions and to check on his class progress. Chinh is like a one on one teacher! Thanks Chinh!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I also provide student insights of how Precalculus will can be used in real life for better understanding. In addition, prepare them with a strong foundation necessary for going into Calculus.
