Chabot Community College (Graduate Coursework)
My name is Emi, and I graduated from Chabot College. I have been a Spanish tutor for several years for students ranging from private colleges to elementary schools. My first language is Spanish and my goal as a tutor is to help the student to understand the grammar rules that Spanish languages has. The teaching style I use is to practice as many times necessary that way when the student walks away from the session they feel satisfied.
Learning a new language is the same as learning your first language, which is based only on repetition.
I recommend that students do not get discouraged. We are capable to learn Spanish or any other subject.

Emigdia was extremely helpful in working on my goals - asking useful questions and offering useful explanations. I'm learning Spanish for a specific purpose and she was very attuned to it.
Emigdia is a very patient tutor. She made my daughter interested in learning this once difficult subject. My daughter likes her because she is always encouraging. Thank you Emigdia!
She is very warm and welcoming. The environment she creates is comfortable for the student to be in which allows getting the job well done and not pushing the student too far. My son enjoys taking lessons with her
She knows what she is teaching and very engaging to talk and study with, patiently correcting the comprehension. Usually I am very picky about my tutors and I like Emi. So, I highly recommend her.
Emigdia has helped my daughter improve her spoken, reading, writing and grammar skills. My daughter did much better on her Spanish test than on any other test before after taking just two weeks of classes with Emigdia. She talks in Spanish to the student most of the time so as to challenge them to learn the language. She stays focused on her tutoring and does it with great enthusiasm and sense of purpose.I would greatly recommend her for anyone who wants to learn the language well and quickly. She is patient and friendly with her students.
Literally amazing. You should invest in Emy, if you are truly wanting to learn Spanish. Super helpful with a great smile and I'm learning from her at least twice a week
I reached out to Emi for tutoring assistance with my 10th grade son who was struggling in Spanish 1.
Emi was quick to respond to my request and made herself available immediately which I really appreciated. During her first lesson, I could tell that she was very knowledgeable and fluent in Spanish and that this was also something she was passionate about. She was able to assess my son's fluency in the subject and then worked on the areas where he needed the most help. She was patient, kind and easy to engage with since day one. We have had several sessions since the first lesson and would definitely recommend her to another parent and/or student who may be struggling with this subject or for those who want to learn this wonderful language. Emi is a fantastic tutor and can get you on the road to success in no time!
Thanks for being a great tutor Emi!
Emigdia A. tutored my son who was doing poorly in Spanish. He got an "A" on his last Spanish Test! Emigdia brings Spanish books and music to listen to. She is very patient and does an excellent job. I would highly recommend Emigdia as a Spanish tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am fluent in Spanish. I was born in Oaxaca, Mexico and Spanish is my first language. I went to college in Hayward, California and I took Spanish classes to understand the grammar. I have been helping students for the last 10 years to understand Spanish grammar, practicing pronunciation, writing and reading. I am 100% committed to my students.
