About Jay

Bio

One of my favorite passions in life is teaching others. I have been more or less tutoring my whole life ever since I was in elementary as I tended to excel in academics compared to my peers. I have taught elementary to high school students in the past, including the 2 year paid position at a local tutoring center. One of my favorite passions in life is teaching others. I have been more or less tutoring my whole life ever since I was in elementary as I tended to excel in academics compared to my peers. I have taught elementary to high school students in the past, including the 2 year paid position at a local tutoring center. What I like the most about teaching others in anything, really, is not only the fun that I have teaching someone a skill or knowledge he/she previously had not known, but also the accomplished feeling I get once the student understands the taught material. I don't think there's a greater joy than seeing the look on the student's face when he/she finally understands the subject.

I've always excelled in math since Elementary and it is a subject I've been studying since I was a very young kid. I can tutor anywhere from elementary math to calculus.

I am free basically every day (typically starting from afternoon) and I'm very patient with students, so feel free to contact me regarding tutoring anytime!

Patient & knowledgeable

Easy to set up schedule even at last minute need, very patient & knowledgeable. Able to instruct my 8th grader effectively well on algebra concepts with multiple practice examples to retain them. We plan to set up more lessons in the future as needed.

Explanations a little hard

Jay did a great job, but some of his explanations were a little hard for my 8 year old to understand. Example being a vowel pronounced “wa as in wine”. My son has decided he’s not ready for a whole new alphabet yet, but we would try Jay again in the future.
