I started out as a journalism major at Fullerton College, where I was editor-in-chief of the college newspaper. I received a B.A. in psychology from California State University, Sacramento and an M.A. from the clinical psychology training program at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Along the way I also did graduate work in biology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and was a theater/music major at New Mexico State University. In my previous lifetimes I have worked as a bank teller in Times Square, sold mouse ears at Disneyland, worked as a light/sound board operator and stage manager in L.A., spent a couple of years as a newspaper reporter and theater critic for a daily newspaper in Orange County. I’ve also administered neuropsychological tests at the Cognitive Disorders Clinic at the University of Michigan Medical Center, coordinated research studies at the University of Washington and UC Davis Medical Center, and worked with psychiatric inpatients at the Nebraska State Hospital. For nearly 15 years I taught psychology, mostly at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online. Now I’m working on setting up a business as an adult ADHD coach, and completing an MFA in Professional Screenwriting at National University.
I have wanted to be a filmmaker for as long as I can remember. When I was a little kid I would entertain myself by creating new episodes for my favorite TV shows (my parents liked to take long car rides and I grew up before the era of in-car DVD players). I relieved the boredom of high school classes by creating a TV cop show and mapping out four seasons worth of episodes (now, sadly, lost). I have a lifetime fascination with the history of TV, especially early TV.

I live statistics and research methods! At CSU Sacramento, I did so well in my classes that I was offered a graduate teaching assistantship. For the next year I tutored students in the research methods courses, as well as supervising the lab tutors and creating keys for the many exams. At Union Institute and University, I taught a course in statistics and research methods. I specialize in helping students who are afraid of statistics!

I have taught Psychology at the college level for 15+ years, both in on-ground courses and online. I have taught many psychology courses, from intro to research methods to social psychology. I have also revised online courses and created the Theories of Personality course for Art Institute Online.

I love film and TV! I have been studying film and TV history on my own since I was a child. And now I'm completing an MFA in Professional Screenwriting at National University.

I have taught students online for 15+ years. My students have ranged in age from 18 to 70. I'm also trained as a life coach. Overhelmed? There is a way to get back on track. I'd love to help you!
