In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I've covered all elementary grades as a substitute teacher and have completed several long term positions primarily in 3-5 grades, so I'm very well acquainted in the lessons these grades cover and what your children are required to learn. I particularly enjoy teaching math since it's my favorite subject! I'll go over 3rd-5th grade requirements such multiplications, divisions of integers, adding and subtracting fractions, basic division, and prealgebra. Feel free to contact me!
I have taught several geography concepts in the classroom and have a minor degree in Earth Sciences which encompasses a lot of concepts in geography.
I've been teaching cursive/handwriting to students, primarily from 3rd-5th grades, in a classroom setting since 2006.
I've been an experienced elementary school teacher, teaching both day-to-day and full-time, since 2006 teaching phonics to all grades, primarily K-2nd, and have passed the RICA test which is required to teach Reading/Writing/ELA/Grammar to K-8th grade students in California.

I've been teaching both as a full time teacher and day-to-day substitute in elementary schools for the LAUSD school district for at least 10 years now. I have plenty of classroom experience teaching both English Language Arts and Math to second graders. As your daughters tutor, I'll help her review phonics, grammar, read over decodable books, and the week's selection. At this point in the new year, 2nd graders should be learning fact families, 2-step addition, subtraction, and working with a wider range of world problems, all of which I have in-class experience.
Teaching in the classroom requires you to develop and implement several methods of showing your students different methods of learning new subject matter. I've been teaching both as a day-to-day substitute and full time teacher in the Elementary school setting since 2006.
