I've studied at Homestead High School, Cupertino, CA. During high school, I developed a passion for Physics, Computer Science, and Math!
I was one grade ahead in math, finished AP Computer Science in 10th grade and by junior year completed AP Physics C (calculus based) and AP Calculus BC. All of these classes were fun for me and I initially starting from 9th grade would gather my friends go to the library where I'd go over the day's material. After about a semester of this, my friend told me I should get into tutoring, which is how i started being a private tutor!
Alongside being a 1 on 1 private tutor throughout high school, I also became a tutor at the school, helping those who couldn't afford private tutoring. During my senior year, I no longer had classes I was interested at my high school so I started taking classes at De Anza Community College. I continued on with Math, Computer Science, and Physics and took some general fun classes alongside. This gave me enough units that now as a UCSB freshman, I have a sophomore standing and by the spring quarter of my first year I'll be considered as a junior.
That's a short story about myself, how I became a tutor and how my education has shaped me. I signed up here on the website so I could help students to get ahead and develop a deeper level of understanding of the material. I value that a lot actually, I believe that plain memorization doesn't lead to much, it's the deeper understanding that sticks with us over the years. I do this for the enjoyment of helping others and the money I make is used to further my own education.
Like I mentioned previously, taken AP Calculus BC, getting A in the class. For SAT Math I've received an 800 and have helped two other students to do so also. SAT 2 Math I've gotten 790. As for ACT Math, I received 35, and have helped 4 students to bring up their scores from high 27/28 to 33/34.
I'm very easy to talk to, you can email me, I'll reply within a few hours if not quicker! Feel free to text me anytime! I have a super flexible schedule, just contact me! I'm willing to help anyone, no matter at what point they are in their education!!
TL:DR
I've tutored around 8 UCSB Students in both Math and Physics bringing their grades to B's & A's
Have had high success rate it teaching students as I teach fundamentals for students to problem-solve on their own. Also, help students fill in gaps in understanding.
Started tutoring since 10th grade and have had 20-25 1 on 1 students who helped out so far.
