I'm a passionate, certified teacher with 10 years teaching experience. I've taught English, Reading, Writing, ESL, French, Math, Social Studies, and Physical Education to middle school students. I also have experience tutoring secondary students in English, French, and Fitness/Wellness Education. While most of my classroom experience is from 5th - 8th grade, I've taught a range of ages and learning abilities including students with Asperger's and Autism. I believe that when students laugh they learn, therefore I strive to make learning fun and engaging while helping students make connections between the material they're learning and their own lives. I've developed several curriculum units and resources that are in compliance with national and international standards and set high expectations for all my students in order to help them achieve their full potential. I believe in providing immediate and constructive feedback to students to promote reflective thinking and improve skills. In short, I love teaching and working with students as they develop their abilities, improve their understanding, and discover for themselves the keys to success. Hello there,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
