Azad university Tehran Campus, Iran (Civil Engineering)
Mazandaran University, Iran (Master's)
I am an academic person with 10-year teaching experience at universities in Iran, Master's of Science, almost Ph.D., of Civil Engineering. Now, I am Instructional Assistant – Math at Santa Monica College (SMC), Santa Monica, CA, tutoring all college-level math courses (2015-present). Moreover, I used to tutor all math courses from the basic to advanced level in the Learning Center at Glendale Community College (GCC), Glendale, CA; in addition, I was the Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader for the high-level math courses at GCC (2013-2015). In Iran, I had been teaching for ten years at Azad University, Central Tehran Campus as a full-time faculty member of Civil Engineering Department before I came to the U.S. in April 2009. Statics and Strength of Materials were the courses which I taught during the most semesters of my ten-year teaching at this Campus. Furthermore, at Azad University, Tehran Medical Campus, I taught Statics, Engineering Mathematics, Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calculus as a part-time instructor (2000-2008). I was also writing and technical editing of books in Civil Engineering at Tehran Institute of Technology; during part-time working at this Institute (1999-2008), I would also teach Statics and Strength of Materials. My book, Multiple Choice Questions of Statics (test and text book), was published in March 2002 by this Institute.
Upon coming to the U.S., I have been trying to improve my English by taking English courses at GCC. I completed all ESL non-credit and credit classes, then I passed ENGL 101 (Freshman English) and ENGL 104 (Critical Thinking/Argument) (2009-2012), all grades were A's. Moreover, in order to compare the system of teaching and the materials which are covered in math courses in the United States and Iran, I took Statistics, Finite Mathematics, Liberal Arts Math, Calculus for Business, and advanced math courses like Honors Calculus I, II, and III, Honors Linear Algebra, and Honors Differential Equations, again, all grades were A's.
My experience of teaching at universities, the English and math courses which I have passed here, the experience of tutoring at SMC and GCC, as multi-cultural colleges, being as an SI leader at GCC, my interest in teaching math, and the recommendations from full-time math professors which approve that I am capable of teaching all college-level math courses inspired me to apply for this math tutor position because I strongly believe that my academic experience can help students to improve their mathematics knowledge. In fact, math courses are basic courses which must be taught by well-experienced instructors; otherwise, it would be very hard for students to understand their future math or math-related courses. I strongly believe that I have achieved the ability of correctly convey the fundamental concepts of math due to my long-term experience of teaching at universities, tutoring at colleges, and private math tutoring for about twenty five years.
Thanks a lot for reading my profile, and I am looking forward to tutoring you all college-level math courses.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have gotten an 'A' for this course, Honors Differential Equations, in Fall 2014 semester at Glendale Community College (GCC). I have also been the Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader for this course at GCC.
I have gotten an 'A' for this course, Honors Linear Algebra, at Glendale Community College (GCC) in Spring 2014 semester. I have also been the Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader for this course at GCC. Moreover, I have the recommendation letters from the full-time mathematics instructors of GCC which say I am capable of teaching all college-level math courses.
