Bio

I started tutoring both math and physics when I was doing my undergraduate degree in Physics at the University of Manchester in the UK back in 2006. Prior to University, I spent six months working as an assistant lecturer of both math and physics at the Seychelles Polytechnic (last year high school/first-year college level). I prepared and corrected exam papers during that time, taught entire classrooms and worked one-on-one with students.

I started tutoring both math and physics when I was doing my undergraduate degree in Physics at the University of Manchester in the UK back in 2006. Prior to University, I spent six months working as an assistant lecturer of both math and physics at the Seychelles Polytechnic (last year high school/first-year college level). I prepared and corrected exam papers during that time, taught entire classrooms and worked one-on-one with students.

It has been so satisfying to see significant grade improvements in my students. I continued to tutor throughout my Undergrad and Masters, and even afterwards when I changed career direction and became a DHC-6 pilot for Air Seychelles.

I have a flexible approach, meaning if one method doesn't work, I try a different angle (some people insist on using the same method, but each student is different and requires a different approach). I also teach with passion and want my students to develop good patterns of thinking so that they feel confident tackling problems when they see them for the first time.

I consistently achieved high grades in math and physics from high school all the way to the completion of my Master's in astrophysics. It's not about being a genius at all! It's about the WAY you think. I had a fantastic physics teacher back in high school and I know how important it is to have good teachers as you make your journey in education. I want to share that methodology when I tutor and give YOU the tools to confidently tackle math and physics problems.

Before we start tutoring, it's very important that I know exactly what your goal is so that I can figure out whether it is realistic, and whether I am sufficiently comfortable with that specific syllabus/scope. I am happy to take time to establish this. In fact, we can have one or two free consultation-type sessions before we begin so that we don't waste any of your time and money figuring out goals, etc. I only embark on a tutoring task if we can realistically achieve those goals.
