• California State University, Fullerton, U.S.A (English)
I recently graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a degree in English. I received a full-ride academic scholarship from CSUF, completed the University Honors Program, and graduated with Summa Cum Laude distinction. During my time as a student as CSUF, I completed graduate level courses that provided me with professional training for tutoring, including numerous tutoring methods and techniques. I have over three years worth of tutoring experience. I worked as a tutor at the university writing center at CSUF, tutoring all levels of English, writing, and grammar. I also worked as an instructional student assistant (ISA) in upper-division classrooms. As an ISA, I assisted upper-division English majors with their writing and also conducted classroom lessons and discussions. In my final year at CSUF, I taught an introductory course to first-year students helping them transition to the campus. I am experienced and comfortable providing tips and tools for both high school students and college students alike.
I received over a 2000 on my SAT and passed over 10 AP exams, Including English Language and English Literature. Therefore, I have both the training and experience to assist students with AP coursework as well as exam strategies and preparation. I am also comfortable and capable of providing proofreading and grammar skills should they be needed.
I consider myself an engaging, dynamic, and fun person to work with. I bring a smile, a sense of humor, and an understanding that receiving tutoring can be challenging. My goal is to make it as fun, accessible, and productive as possible. I look forward to working with you! I recently graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a degree in English. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
