Pianist Janice, born in 1996, a recipient of numerous of awards and prizes. Pianist Janice, born in 1996, a recipient of numerous of awards and prizes. She earned the top prizes in the senior division in 2015 Music Teachers National Association competition, 2016 Lee university piano international festival, 2013 YAMAHA international piano competition in Taiwan, 2014 Jefferson symphony concerto competition, and 2015 PianoTexas Young Artists concerto competition, which resulted in a performance with Fort Worth Symphony under the baton Lio Kuokman. The performance brought a review for playing “She captured Liszt’s style, almost impossible to exaggerate, and took full advantage of the fireworks. She has a forceful attack when needed and an impressive legato.” Yun began private lessons at the age of five and gave her first formal concert at 10 afterwards. After four years, She successfully made her orchestral debut with Taiwan Youth Orchestra. Since then, she has appeared in recitals as soloist in Kaohsiung City Music Hall and Jhihde Hall in Taiwan, Europe, as well as in United States. She has appeared at renowned music festivals including Walnut Hill Music Festival, Academie Internationale d’Ete de Nice, and as a fellowship recipient of Pianotexas festival, Pianofest in the Hamptons, New York, and Music Academy of the West. In 2017, She was invited as a solo pianist to present an interview with one of prestigious magazines “Muzik online” in Taiwan.
As an avid chamber musician, she consistently involved in highlight concert series at numerous chamber music festivals including Formosa Chamber Music Festival, Music@menlo chamber music festival, where she studies with Esther strings quartet, Clive Greensmith, one of the member of Tokyo strings quartet, Gilbert Kallish, Gleen Dicterow, Erin Keefe, Paul Neubauer and Wu Han. Currently, she is studying under the tutelage of Ning An, the third prize winner of Queen Elizabeth Piano competition in 1999, at California State University Fullerton school of music.
