I’m a UCLA graduate and an English/History specialist. English isn't the easiest language to use at a high level; many consider it one of the most difficult languages to master. Strong English skills are necessary for success across a broad range of high school and collegiate courses. That's where I come in to assist you.
My academic career has been filled with A-grade essays, and I understand how to turn a C- draft into an A- or better in only a few hours.
AP Literature students can use my help most because I’m particularly gifted at teaching students to close-read novels for exams and essay preparation. I understand how to read between the lines and take concepts from the text that lie beneath the surface level. I can train you to do the same.
I’m available on short notice to edit and proofread your work, including day-to-day homework assignments. I’m here to fit student needs on an individual basis; I understand that some students require teaching and others just need advice.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. My B.A. is in American Literature and Culture, so I excel at reading comprehension and can you teach how to read between each line.
At UCLA and other higher learning institutions, we call this skill "close reading". This is a necessary skill for success in SAT and ACT Reading sections.
I earned many As in top-level writing courses at UCLA, and helped my classmates earn As as well.
