I graduated in 2010 from UCLA with my Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, following that I attended Biola University and graduated with my Master's Degree in Anthropology in May 2014. During my time as a graduate student I worked as a TA for the Anthropology Department Chair, Dr. Sue Russell. I also volunteered my time at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County in the Vertebrate Paleontology Lab while I was a graduate student, helping with the retrieval of an ancient Baleen whale skull near Shark Tooth Hill in Bakersfield, CA. My emphasis was Scandinavian Studies/Archaeology and Linguistics and my thesis was written on evidence of kinship and gender in the rune stones, runes being the written language of the Scandinavian people during the Viking Age. The interest in Scandinavian archaeology led me to spend a summer in Iceland in 2012 through Fornleifastofnun íslands in the area of Vatnsfjörður on the NW coast. This provided me with field experience in archaeology, collecting and sorting samples, identifying bones and working in archaeobotany in the lab.

Some of the courses I have taken over my time studying Anthropology are as follows: Southwest Archaeology, Archaeology of North America, History of Anthropology, Ethnomathematics, Culture and Communication, Cultural Evolution, Language Endangerment and Linguistic Revitalization, Gender and Language in Society, Ancient Egyptian Civilization, Vikings: The Society, Sagas, and Archaeology of the Viking Age, Sign, Symbol and Structure, Anthropology of Religion, Ethnographic Research Methods, Cultures of the World: Ethnic America, Social Anthropology, New Religious Movements, Kinship and Family in Cross-Cultural Perspective, and Contemporary Anthropological Theory.
