MTI College (Design - Drafting)
I have used drafting in business for most of my life. (My father taught "Mechanical Drawing" and Wood Shop for junior high students for more than 35 years.) For 6 years I taught AutoCAD Drafting at MTI College/Alta Tech Academy. The course was an accredited associate's degree program and covered Architectural, Mechanical, Space Planning, Field Measuring and Estimating. It covered 2D and 3D Modeling and Rendering. The course was designed for beginners and covered AutoCAD starting with "this is a computer" up through advanced operations. The usual class was 7 hours a day, 5 days a week for 5 - 11 months, depending on students' starting skills and what they needed to learn. Because I designed the course to fit each student's needs, I am uniquely qualified to teach you what you want to learn in the time you want to spend.

After having multiple AutoCAD lessons with Eugene, I can say that he is one of the best instructors/tutors I have ever had. The first lesson involved finding out what I wanted to get out of learning the program. After I explained that I was a mechanical engineering student, Eugene knew exactly where to take it from there. It was comforting to know that our sessions were being tailored to fit my particular needs.
The rest of the sessions covered everything; 2D and 3D drafting, personalizing my workspace, applying textures and materials to my drawings, rendering, ANSI standards, blocks, and much more. Eugene teaches the best techniques to create drawings in a fast and accurate manner, all while assigning an appropriate amount of homework that encourages thinking and skill development. The format of the sessions, combined with Eugene's stories concerning how he uses AutoCAD in the real world, creates an interesting, interactive, and fun learning environment. 5/5 stars.
Very helpful on catching me up between the old version I used and the new. Got some tips and tricks to draw faster, which was what I wanted. Very knowledgeable on the subjects, answered all my questions. Would def. refer to anyone who needs to learn this program! Thank you!
I have attempted several times in the past to learn CAD through different agencies in my spare time. each time I have failed, after my first lesson with Jene I believe he will be the force that will finally help me succeed in this endeavor. the difference a really good teacher can make verses a mediocre teacher is enormous. Jene represents the really good teacher profile. I am very happy to have had this first lesson experience with him and look forward to more.
Eugene is a very knowledgeable tutor who listen to your questions, understand your background and help you to solve the problem. Highly recommended.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been drafting, as part of my job, for all of my adult life. I went back to school for a Degree in Design & Drafting and received my AutoCAD Certification in 2005. For 6 years I taught an Associate's Degree Program in Design & Drafting using AutoCAD at MTI College and Alta Tech Academy in Santa Ana, CA. Both schools were recognized as Degree Granting Institutions by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary & Vocational Education.
