Hello! I've been an educator for ten years, including a tutor in several non profit programs and as a substitute teacher. I love working with people and helping students understand their subjects. As a tutor, I cover various subjects, but specialize in Math, Spanish, English, and Social Science. My favorite part of tutoring is seeing that lightbulb go off for students when they feel like they're actually learning.
I've worked across the board in Middle School and High School level math, from Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1&2, Geometry, and Math 1CC and 2CC. I also specialize in all levels of Spanish and read and write as well as I speak it. I tutor all levels of English and Social Sciences as well. Since I also work as a substitute teacher, I've passed my CBEST and would love to help others looking to pass that test. Furthermore, working as a substitute helps me stay on my A game and see what students learn in the classroom on a daily basis, and connect with students at their level so that they can reach their academic goals.
I know it's tough when you study a subject that's "just not your thing," but I'm here to help you rise to the challenge! Parents, please feel welcome to contact me. I work with students as individuals to increase not only their learning ability, but their confidence. Can't wait to hear from you! Hello! Miranda was extremely helpful in my Spanish work. She made everything super easy to understand, and added some fun to the lesson too! Definitely a very dedicated teacher. Thank you!!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Both degrees covered qualitative and quantitative research methods, theory, and vast coverage of the literature. I received my Bachelors from Fresno State in 2011 and my Master's in Applied anthropology from the University of North Texas in 2014.
