B.A. UC Berkeley (Gender Studies)
I have experience as a literacy tutor, working with students from K-6th grade. My responsibilities have included: creating lesson plans, assisting with reading, comprehension and writing. I tutored students for three years in local Bay Area schools through BUILD, a program run from the UC Berkeley Public Service Center. Two of the three years, I worked not only as a tutor, but the director of a tutor team of fellow UC Berkeley students. I also have previous experience tutoring Algebra 1 with middle school students, and volunteered with a middle school ASES program while I was in high school.
Additionally, I participated in competitive public speaking while in highschool. I also worked with UC Berkeley's slam poetry club while in attendance there.
I also do darkroom photography, have experience cooking, and love baking. Feel free to contact me! I have experience as a literacy tutor, working with students from K-6th grade. My responsibilities have included: creating lesson plans, assisting with reading, comprehension and Read more
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
