Hello, I'm Andrea! I completed my bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of San Francisco. I have over 5 years of experience tutoring elementary, high school, and college students in math, chemistry, and English. I offer help with writing essays, literature reviews, and psychology research proposals. During college, I worked with high school students on their college essays for 2 years. I've completed Prealgebra, Algebra 1/2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Precalculus, Differential Equations, Calculus AB/BC, Linear Algebra, and Multivariable Calculus. I've also completed Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and was the Chemistry professor's TA for 2 years. I've worked with students with learning disabilities as well.

I attribute my success to having good teachers throughout my formal education. I strive to answer my students' questions with clarity and give examples to help retain the knowledge from the course. Repetition and keeping an open mind are pivotal in succeeding in a challenging course and serve as the foundation of my teaching style.

I give practice problems to students and break down problems step by step answering any questions that may arise. I'm able to grade assignments and give constructive feedback for revisions. I can also help organize notes and discuss study skills to get ahead in class. What I love most about tutoring is being able to see my students understand the subject more thoroughly, gain confidence in themselves, and develop their learning skills.

I am currently only offering online tutoring for all of my students. Please feel free to contact me about scheduling and availability.

Cooking,

Cooking

I started learning how to cook by myself in 2016 after a family member passed away. I cooked for two people for 2 years and am now cooking for 3 people. Some of my favorite recipes include chocolate chip cookies, chicken enchiladas, chicken soup, beef stew, fried rice, and hand-wrapped dumplings.
Fitness,

Fitness

I’m an ex-figure skater with training in flexibility and beginner contortion. I have been helping people with their flexibility for over 5 years. No equipment is necessary, but having some props may help. Some positions that I can teach are getting into your bridge, middle splits, front splits, and pancake.
Sewing

Sewing

I started sewing in high school, volunteering 200+ hours for a quilting guild that donate quilt tops for orphaned children. Throughout my five years of sewing, I've made stuffed toys, table runners, wall hangings, and quilts. Currently, I am working on a swan quilt and am sewing masks to donate to Kaiser.

Knowledgeable and flexible Tutor!!!

Andrea has been providing me support with my Psychology Research Methods class. She has good writing skills; she is good at proofreading , she knows how to write APA citations and offers great feedback. She also helps me to understand how the proposals should look like, She provides comments so I can discuss with my classmates. She is very flexible and very patient. I definitely recommend her!!! Just don't book all her hours because I need her too!!LOL

Patient and Knowledgeable.

Andrea was excellent. She was able to jump right in and explain difficult cognitive concepts in a way I could understand easily. The session was very interactive, I did not only ask her questions to explain, but Andrea asked questions back to make sure that I understood every steps. She was so friendly and easy to talk to and showed me some "tricks" and different ways to make calculations.
