I have a masters degree in Electrical Engineering and my calculus grade is the highest in my class. Even though my major is not math, my Partial Differential Equation grade is number one in the class, even with Applied Math students offered by Applied Math department. My math grade is usually one of the top 10 from my class (usually we have 50 students in one class) since I was in elementary school. I did around 30 math questions daily and over 50 questions over the weekend so this kind of practice built a solid foundation in math for me. I taught my son math since he was in elementary school.
I did many math questions related to those topics since I was a student, so I believe I am quite good in those area. Math is like anything else, if you want yourself to be better at it than others, you need to practice more. You also need someone to tell you why you need to solve this math problem this way, not just telling them the solution. The other important thing regarding math is that most of math has its patterns and how you find the pattern to solve problems.
Normally, I will check a student's homework, because I want to know what he/she knows and what he/she doesn't. I need to understand his/her weak point, and where he/she needs to improve on, then I will let my students know what is the right way to solve the problem and why he/she did it wrong. I will give him/her similar questions to practice in order to make sure he/she doesn't have any issues again.
I taught my son math well, so I have confidence to teach you well if you can work with me. Those topics that I plan to teach have existed for a long time, even older than your great-great-grandparents. There is nothing new and don't be afraid.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you with these studies. I have a masters degree in Electrical Engineering and my calculus grade is the highest in my class. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
