I've been tutoring professionally since 2003. I first began tutoring at Los Angeles Valley Community College Learning Center in Van Nuys, CA. In the years following I worked with students who found me through several agencies and through private referrals. Tutoring full time, I found that I enjoyed teaching home school students during the day and regular students in the evenings. I was home schooled for several years during high school so I understand the challenges students and parents face trying to "get it done right."
The subjects that I teach well are part of a regular liberal arts curriculum. Liberal arts cover all of the social sciences, all English courses, history courses, basic math and science. I can even offer voice training for choir and public speaking. My special talents focus on journalistic writing, business writing, green thinking and environmentalism. I also have many years of experience tutoring children with learning challenges. Some of my students have had tourette's symdrome, ADHD, ADD, autism and other challenges to learning. All of my students experienced a change in their study habits and emotional challenges toward learning.
In addition, I have coached kids for college preparatory courses, SAT studies, and all general education requirements for elementary school through the college level.
It would be my pleasure to help you feel better and perform better in your academic career.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
