I am in the midst of my twenty third year teaching Special Needs pupils in a variety of subjects. I possess both Single Subject (Social Science, Algebra authorization and English authorization) and Multiple Subject credentials. I also possess Special Education credentials as follows: Physical Handicap, Learning Handicap, Resource Specialist Certificate of Competency, and an Autism Add-on certificate. I am also possess a CLAD credential embedded into my California teaching credential. I have taught many years at the High School level, both in a self-contained classroom as well as in many inclusion settings. I have also taught at a Middle School on two occasions, and I am currently teaching Special Education pupils in an online school utilizing a litany of strategies to assist children to promote at all levels.
I have taught all levels of English Language Arts. I also instruct General Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry. I have recently assisted online pupils in Algebra 2. My Single Subject credential is focused in. Social Studies, and my BA received at UC Berkeley was in the area of Political Science. I received my Master of Arts degree from Columbia University's Teachers College in the area of Special Education.
My passion for education is in the area of Social Sciences. I studied Political Science at UC Berkeley and this carried over into my profession where I have taught Special Education pupils in all areas of Social Science (Geography, World History, US History, Civics and Economics). I have served as an Inclusion Specialist at the High School level where I specialized in the area of all Social Sciences. In these inclusive settings I have learned a tremendous amount about various teaching styles. I employ many different methods of diversifying my instruction , and in so doing my students are always actively engaged in their lessons.

$60/hr. $30 for the second hour per day w/ max 2 hours/day.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I possess an undergraduate BA degree from UC Berkeley in Political Science. I also taught Civics at each of the high schools where I have taught.
