If you are having trouble with corporate, managerial or investment finance courses, I can help you. I've been a successful investment manager of institutional equity portfolios for over 25 years, which involves understanding of businesses and modeling company financial statements. I also have an in depth understanding of what financial attributes are important in making good investments, including balance sheets, managements, cash flows, return on capital and other concepts that are important in understanding and applying finance.
In addition to my business experience, I've studied business and finance at the University of Southern California, earning a Bachelor of Science, and at Duke University, earning a Master of Business Administration. I also have a Chartered Financial Analyst designation, which requires passage of three rigorous exams taken in succession covering in depth topics in economics, statistics, accounting, finance, ethics, portfolio management, derivatives, fixed income and other areas. I have had experience in being both a teaching assistant at the college level and as a mentor and adviser to graduate students for Duke's MBA program. I also am an alumni representative at Duke college fairs and interview high school students students applying for admission to Duke.
I have extensive experience tutoring students for both introductory and advanced finance courses at Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Long Beach, UC Irvine and Chapman University as well as several universities offering online courses. My tutoring sessions are designed to help students have fun with the material, become proficient at using a financial calculator, discuss concepts presented in class and drill homework and practice test problems to develop confidence in the material. It is my goal to help students not only achieve good outcomes in class, but to also mentor and encourage them to pursue future studies in finance that will prepare them for future careers in the field. Kelly is nothing short of spectacular! He is always well prepared in advance of our tutoring lessons and helps me understand the math without skipping any steps. I'm going for my second Masters degree, and I never thought I would need a tutor until I started this quarter. He is an expert in anything finance and he makes learning about financial matters fun. He truly cares for his students and loves what he does. This is so evident in how he has helped me change my grade and attitude towards this course. He has my highest recommendation!

Kelly is a great tutor. Kelly knows a lot about the finance subject. Kelly explains things so that you can understand them.
Kelly is a great tutor, answers emails, questions within minutes, very patient, agreed to meet with me on a holiday because I was tight in schedule. Great tutor, thank you.
I'm an online student, so I don't have an easy format or real time verbal instructions. Kelly makes the financial concept easy to understand and formatting clean line. With 10-20 steps to one problem, this has helped me tremendously!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
