I have been a motivated and compassionate educator throughout my life. Even as a student, I enjoyed helping my peers succeed in academic subjects that I understood particularly well. As a college and graduate student, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to explore this passion further by taking on the role of tutor and teaching assistant in several courses across the humanities and chemical engineering departments. The best part about helping others understand a subject better is that I often end up learning something, too!
I have graduate and undergraduate degrees in Chemical Engineering, a field that uses a significant amount of computational and theoretical math, from Stanford University. Additionally, in standardized tests such as SAT Math (800), SAT Math Level 2 (800), AP Calculus AB/BC (5), I scored full points.
While in school, I received high grades in classes with a large writing component and wrote dozens of news articles for the Stanford Daily, my college newspaper. Additionally, I have helped dozens of students improve their college essays, often receiving glowing feedback from them directly. Lastly, I was a technical writing tutor and teaching assistant for undergraduates in the Chemical Engineering department while in graduate school.
I am currently a software engineer at Oracle, a well-known Silicon Valley database and applications company. Previously, I worked at Tesla, SunPower and Sunrun, all in highly technical software roles. I have written over 50+ full stack applications and am well-versed in data structures and algorithms. My specialties are in Java and Javascript.
I'm excited to meet you to understand your needs and desires. Whether you are looking to brush up on a subject for a milestone coming up soon or looking to improve in a subject long term, I have built enough experience over the years to apply a teaching method custom to you and your goals. If there's something you think I can help with, please don't hesitate to send me a message!
