In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I hold a Bachelors and a PhD in chemistry. This training included formal calculus training including basic and advanced calculus, multi-variate calculus, and partial differential equations. I also use calculus regularly as a part of my employment as a scientific researcher.
I am a scientist by trade (PhD Physical Chemistry). I have been programming for about nine years. Programming has been a major part of my full time employment for the past five years. I have formal education in Java and MatLab, and additional experience in C++, HTML/CSS, and Arduino (truncated C++).
I hold an American Chemical Society accredited Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, as well as a PhD in chemistry. I have about 5 years experience in chemical education. This includes acting as a supplemental instructor for general, organic, and biochemistry for pre-health professionals.
I hold a Bachelors in chemistry and a PhD in physical chemistry. This training included advanced physics topics: quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, etc. I am also currently employed in a physics-oriented research field.
I hold an American Chemical Society accredited Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, as well as a PhD in physical chemistry. I have five years of experience in teaching college level chemistry in various roles. I have previously tutored for standardized testing in science and mathematics. I am familiar with the covered subject matter and the structure of the NY chemistry regents exam.
