My name is Ryan. I have had experience tutoring for the past two years. I tutor kids in my local library in Vallejo, California. I tutor students that are in grades Kindergarten through Eighth grade. I tutor kids after-school with their homework assignments. I will tutor any subjects from grades kindergarten through 7th grade.
When I am not tutoring, I work for the Vallejo Unified School District as a special education aide. I have been working for them for the past five years. I have worked with different categories of Special Ed such as autism, mild to moderate and resource. When I work in the classes, I help students with classwork assignments.
As far as my educational background is concerned, I have a bachelor of arts of degree from San Francisco State in child development. I also have passed the California Basic Examination Skills Test in math, writing, and reading.
The way my tutoring methods work is that once the student takes out their assignments out, then I help them. When the student doesn't understand a math problem or a question in their reading assignment, I would show how to do the problem step by step or go back to the reading to answer the question. Once the student understands it, I would let them do it on their own and when they're done, I would check to make that It is done correctly.
When I tutor kids, it makes feel that I've accomplished something. I feel that the students do better in school when they get the extra help. So if anyone needs help with their homework assignments, please feel free to contact me. My name is Ryan. I have had experience tutoring for the past two years. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been a volunteer tutor for the past two years. Most of the students that I've tutored are from grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. The subject most of them come to me for is Math. In my two years as a volunteer tutor, I've helped students with basic elementary math, algebra and some pre-algebra.
