My name is Karen D. and I'd like to be your tutor. I'm the mother of two wonderful girls, ages 17 and 13, who enjoy the Alaskan lifestyle (e.g., hiking, fishing and berry picking). We share our life with our English Springer Spaniel named Jack and our rescue kitty named Cleo. While my daughters are current in public school, we have bounced back and forth with the Anchorage School District's Family Partnership Charter School (FPCS) program.

I am a Certified Advanced Facilitator with the University of Phoenix Online. I also teach at Axia College and Ashford University. Local to Anchorage, I've had the opportunity to teach classes at Charter College and make guest presentations at Alaska Career College. In conjunction with the Institute of Management Accountants and the University of Alaska, I've facilitated a 4 week workshop to prepare candidates for the Certified in Management Accounting (CMA) exam.

When I'm not teaching or being a mom, I am a management consultant providing financial management and management accounting expertise to small and mid-sized businesses. I have a BA in English and an MBA. I earned both degrees while at the University of Santa Clara, located in the heart of California's Silicon Valley.
