San Francisco State University (Pre medicine)
It’s a pleasure to meet you! I am honors graduate in Economics and soon to be Physician's Assistant student. I have spent the past seven years tutoring students of all ages and backgrounds and have loved every moment. There is no denying that school can be hard. I take pride in watching my students achieve their potential and become successful individuals.
When I was in college I spent 4 years tutoring in Pre-Algebra, Algebra, English composition and GRE verbal. Once I graduated college I moved to San Francisco to complete a post-bachelorette degree in pre-medicine. I spent 2 years studying and tutoring in all areas of Physics, Biology, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Biochemistry. I am very good at simplifying difficult concepts in a way that is manageable and easily understandable. School can be easy if it’s made easy!
I have large bank of study and testing materials and assign homework after most lessons so that each student will continue practicing and developing on their areas of weakness.
I am always looking to better myself as a teacher. I welcome feedback as a means to improve the quality of the lesson. Although I do require a 24-hour cancellation notice, I understand that sometimes, things come up and I will offer make-up lessons.
My home in Encino is always open as a quiet comfortable place to study. However, I am happy to meet for each lesson at the convenience of the student.
I look forward to hearing from you and help you become better than the day you were before! It’s a pleasure to meet you! I am honors graduate in Economics and soon to be Physician's Assistant student. I have spent the past seven years tutoring students of all ages and backgrounds and have loved every moment. Gil is a very friendly, direct and effective communicator. His understanding of the subject (AP Chemistry) and ability to explain both concepts and strategies for their applications was very thorough. He was extremely well prepared for the sessions, asking in advance for the topics in question and even going so far as to review the book our son was using before the tutoring session so that he could directly address our son's questions from the classroom materials. In addition, Gil was friendly and encouraging, with a warm and polite professional demeanor. Our son has a better understanding of this challenging subject and enjoyed the tutoring sessions with Gil. We wholeheartedly recommend him as a tutor, and would gladly hire him again.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
