Hello!
My name is Livvy S. I would love the opportunity to tutor you/your child in grade school. I have never worked formally as a tutor, although I have experience tutoring siblings as well as conducting art camps for young girls. My favorite academic areas are reading, writing, vocabulary, spelling, and grammar, and I love to help individuals grasp the value of language in our lives. As a college student, I am excited to learn, and I exhibit curiosity in all areas of my life. I recognize the importance of critical thinking-- questioning and observing the phenomena around us. For this reason, my teaching style is guiding individuals in a direction without telling them "what" or "how" to think. Nevertheless, I understand the importance of getting the right answer on homework assignments, etc. Also, I know what it is like to be on the other side of the equation, and what it is like to feel incompetent in a given subject area. (Trigonometry in high school was my subject of concern). Because of my experience feeling behind, I am both patient and compassionate as a tutor. I would love to hear back from you, and hopefully work with you/your child in the future.
