My best strength as a teacher is listening very carefully to each individual student in order learn how to best aid his or her progress. Other strengths are good powers of exposition, demonstration, and resourcefulness.

My favorite thing about teaching is when a student solves a problem or has an idea. It is tremendously fulfilling for me to see that I helped with any step in scholastic achievement. I want the student to succeed.

I took extensive art history courses at the University of Rome, Italy, and also for my BA and MFA degrees at the University of California at San Diego. I've traveled extensively in Europe, England, Japan and Mexico in search of art and architecture over a long career as a photographer and exhibiting artist, whose work has been collected to museums worldwide. My current work in progress, Le Nôtre and Time, is a large suite of photographs, destined for publication, on the work of 17th century landscape designer, André Le Nôtre. I've taught art history and the history of photography at university level. I am passionate about this subject and would look forward to helping any student acquire a better understanding of the range of subjects art history comprises. I can also help edit art history papers and power point presentations.

When teaching, I present modern geographical concepts: physical geography (including weather systems, tectonic plates, land and rock formation, glacial ages, and the biosphere), human geography (the study of human society and human distribution based on land use), and integrated geography (the study of how physical and human geographies affect each other). I work very closely with the student's own text and can recommend useful and interesting internet resources to aid in visualization of complex and dynamic geographical concepts. I truly enjoy helping students investigate and build working knowledge of our planet.

My son has had a fantastic experience with Rebecca on many levels. Not only is she an accomplished teacher, easily demonstrated by her mastery of teaching subjects, Rebecca's commitment to his improvement has boosted his confidence and desire to learn. Rebecca offers a world view - a portal to a future my son is beginning to understand and one he, with Rebecca's guidance, controls. I very highly recommend Rebecca.
