Ex'pression College for Digital Arts (Enrolled)
Hi there! If you're reading this, that means that you're looking to learn, and for that, I applaud you! My name is Weston, and I am a senior at Ex'pression college. I'm studying visual effects, and I specialize in 3d modeling, shading, lighting, rigging, and more. I am a certified tutor through my college, and I can teach 3d principles using Autodesk Maya and Mental Ray. Please note that I cannot tutor in 3d animation. I have been using Maya for almost four years, and have been teaching it to fellow students and friends for almost as long. In highschool, I was the president of our animation club, with my main duty being that of a teacher to my members. I also spent a term as the animation teacher's intern. I received a Department Award for Animation due to my efforts as president.
I'm located in Emeryville, CA, with easy access of public transit (Emerygoround is one block away). If you cancel with at least a 12 hour notice, I'll be happy to reschedule our session. I will be as flexible as possible, though keep in mind that I have class and work to maneuver around. Hi there! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been using Maya for about four years, and have completed a total of eight Maya centered college courses with high marks. I am also certified by my college to tutor in those subjects, and have helped many of my fellow classmates. I am also an Autodesk Certified Student Expert. I tailor my tutoring style to the preferences of my students, either walking them through the steps while they do it themselves, or by demonstration and explanation, or whatever they learn best with.
