I was a math tutor in Junior college and have worked as a substitute teacher in both the Elk Grove Unified and Sacramento Unified school districts.

I earned my natural science degree in Jr. college. To earn that degree I had to take calculus I & II, engineering physics and chemistry. I also was a physics tutor in college.

I have a unique blend of professional experience as an engineer, a gift of being able to explain things very well as a teacher and I love to teach. Additionally, I have had all of the classes I will be tutoring and more advanced courses in each subject area. My current class schedules at Elk Grove Unified allow me flexibility to be available to those I tutor.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

Hi my name is Clint. I took Pre-algebra in 8th grade and algebra I in 9th grade. For me algebra was a totally different kind of math from arithmetic and fractions which I had taken before and I absolutely loved it. Algebra I is where I fell in love with math and wanted to learn more. In 10 grade I took geometry and this was very different from Algebra and I liked it even more. Geometry was the class that I decided I wanted to become an engineer from a picture I saw of an engineer designing an airport, and eventually I did become a mechanical engineer and worked as an aerospace engineer, a manufacturing engineer and as a mechanical engineering consultant/designer. In the eleventh grade I took algebra II and in the 12 grade I started Pre-Calculus to get ready for college. In my first year of college I took Trigonometry the first semester and Calculus I the second semester. My second year in college I took Calculus II in preparation to fulfill my transfer requirements from Jr. college to the California State University at Sacramento where I finished my engineering studies and graduated with my B.S. degree in mechanical engineering technology. I also worked as a math tutor in Jr. college to help pay for my tuition. While working as an engineer, I often tutored part-time for Sacramento Unified School District and Elk Grove Unified School district. I learned that I enjoy teaching others while tutoring in Jr. college. I currently still teach classes in Elk Grove Unified adult ed program in automotive maintenance as well as tutoring here for WyzAnt. I think learning math should be fun, and easy and that is how I teach.

Very Knowledgeable and Patient

We have been using Clint for a few months now and his help has really paid off. He is great with getting our daughter organized, assisting with many aspects of Algebra and test prep. We are very happy and will continue to use him weekly.

Patient tutor

Clint did a remarkable job working with my daughter in Geometry. My daughter is a freshman in high school and was struggling in Geometry. We only had five weeks left in the semester and she was getting a “D”. After working with Clint she was able to improve her grade and finish the semester with a “B+”. Clint is very patient and was very specific in what my daughter needed to do to be successful in her studies. He has the ability to explain and demonstrate the subject in such a manner so it made sense to her. We are so pleased with the work Clint did, we are planning on scheduling sessions with him through-out the summer break to get her ready for Algebra-II next school year.
