Hello! My name is Janet and I am a third year college student at Sacramento City College. Apart from taking courses I have also been doing independent tutoring in various subjects such as math, English writing, theatre, and music. The people whom I have tutored rave about my skills in the theatre and music area. They also say I am very helpful and I take the time to make sure you understand everything we cover in our tutoring sessions. I have a very broad teaching/tutoring style. Each session is geared toward the struggle area each student is currently facing or toward an area that they like extra critique/instruction upon. If you like an easy-going, non-stiff, and productive learning experience, contact me. I work hard to provide quality service to every student who confides in me for tutoring. Hello! Attentive, responsive, positive, responsible and in-charge; these are the words that can describe Janet M. as a very good tutor. My son learned a lot from Janet during the time he was tutored by her. We saw overall positive change and progress in his performance in the class. We are very happy that we made the decision to hire a tutor. Janet's feedback on weekly basis was very informative for us to know how much progress was achieved and what was next week plan. We appreciate Janet's attentiveness, consistency and hard work and wish her the best.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taken the ASVAB test and earned high scores.
I have been a Christian for 20 years and studied the Bible as part of my faith practices and for leisure. I have also taken Bible Study Fellowship classes for about 3 years, so I have experience in learning how to study the Bible in various ways.
I am involved in both teaching and aiding teachers for 5th and 6th grade and am tutoring other students on my free time. I studied Japanese all four years of high school and passed each year.
I believe that I am well qualified to tutor in piano because I have taken 6.5 years of formal lessons as a child and have been continuously playing throughout my adult life. I feel that my knowledge in basic piano skills should suffice and will guild my students in their pursuit of learning piano.
I have taken and passed some college level sociology courses. On top of that, I have conducted my own case studies proving and testing random things with great success. In my college career, though majoring in the Social Sciences, am focusing on the field of Sociology because I want to become a counselor one day as my ultimate career so with these ambitions I feel that I can provide what knowledge I have in this subject.
I have taken college courses on the subject and passed them with an 'A'.
I would like to tutor in theatre arts because I have extensive experience in the subject. Not only have I taken courses in the subject but I have also been casted in nine theatre productions and stage managed/assistant stage managed a few productions. Moreover, I have been assisting fellow students in polishing their performance in their scenes and monologues via creating the blocking (movements/actions) and critiqued their speech styles for their monologues. People whom I have helped have raved that I was the best help they've had and suggest me to consider being a director as a career. I believe my experience and other things make me qualified to tutor in this subject.
