I am excited to have the opportunity to help and serve my students. Growing up in a mediocre high school, I have witnessed peers that would neglect and throw away their potentiality of receiving good grades, earning recognition from their teachers, and entering a renowned college. Back then, I would feel compassion because I could not help them. Now, I am impassioned to fuel my students with intensive knowledge and concrete goal-setting skills for high school and college.
My very first tutoring experience has been in high school and youth fellowship. In high school, I have tutored a student failing in Algebra I. It has been my first gratifying tutoring experience. In youth fellowship, I would tutor and mentor a group of students ranging from elementary to the beginning of high school. I would use the best of my limited knowledge and amateur teaching methods during that time to make sure students understand the basic formulas and equations in Algebra I/II and Calculus and comprehend the unbending laws of English grammar.
Now, utilizing my intensive knowledge and experience from my four years at UCLA, study abroad, and tutoring/mentoring experiences, I am currently interacting and mentoring students from a private academy. The subjects would range from Pre-Algebra to Algebra II and ESL all the way to SAT Critical Reading. Besides tutoring student in academic subjects, the student and I would discuss and dwell on the importance of developing time management, goal-oriented, and relationship-building skills.
Thank you for your consideration of my qualifications, and I look forward to tutoring my students. Hi!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
