About Ed

I am the President of a media company. The award winning journalist, who has worked for CBS News, and The Wall Street Journal, has long been a familiar voice to Sacramento Radio listeners. My his unique perspective on California and The World can be heard weekdays on the radio.

My work has been published in Comstock’s Magazine, Golf and Lifestyle and on various blog sites. I have written and delivered more than 2000 “Crane’s Corner” radio essays and is a recipient of Sigma Delta Chi and The Chicago Headline Club’s BEST FEATURE WRITING “Peter Lisagor” Award.

My vast experience in the broadcast realm has distilled my writing style. I write in what is best described as a conversational style. Though most of my work is written for a radio or television, I have found that it translates well to the "print" or written page as well. I will endeavor to teach basic writing skills, while attempting to tap into the creative potential of each student.

Let's discuss your needs. Is it a one time writing project? Do you want to prepare for the all important college admission application essays? Do you have an interest in writing short stories or humor? I am confident I can help you achieve most any appropriate writing goals.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Public Speaking

I am a career broadcast journalist, speaking live on a variety of subjects is an integral part of the job. My career, much of it with CBS News, has afforded me many opportunities to speak before various civic and charitable groups. I routinely MC about a dozen charity or gala events and look forward to sharing my experience in public speaking.
