UC Irvine (Chemistry)
Hello, I am Tina.
I recently graduated from UC Irvine with a major in Chemistry and have been tutoring students in math and science for the past couple of years. I've tutored math subjects ranging from Common Core Math to Differential Calculus. I've also tutored students in chemistry, biology, and physics. I have taught students one on one and have also tutored in a classroom setting (usually through a tutoring center). I am a very dedicated educator and all of my students have shown significant signs of improvement.
Strong math skills are very important to academic success, especially if pursuing a degree in STEM. I guarantee that the mathematical applications learned growing up will still be used on a regular basis when working out future problems. It is incredibly important that students develop a strong foundation in mathematics. I know that I have helped students in building that foundation.
Since I majored in Chemistry in college, I have tutored many students in the science. Chemistry is a very difficult subject. There is an overwhelming amount of information to understand, and mixing science with math is never easy. I have helped A LOT of students struggling in chemistry. I find that most students "go through the motions" of chemistry- they work out the problems like they're supposed to, but don't exactly understand what is going on. This can get pretty bad later on when there are too many topics and equations to use. I'm there to guide students so they can really understand the concepts. And as a chemist, I have ACS Certification for Professional Education in Chemistry.
Please let me know if you need help! I will try my best to help you with any of your needs. Hello, I am Tina.

Tina is a great tutor! She puts a lot of effort into her tutoring; she brings practice and review packets and even carries around a huge whiteboard to help her students learn better. She helped my child get an A in her chemistry class! I highly recommend Tina!
tina is really good instructing chemistry/geometry. she brings a whiteboard which is a great visual aide for students, as well as helps alot with the instruction
Tina was able to teach me more about my topic than just the questions I had presented to her. She walked through each problem on a white board to allow me to see the bigger picture and to also understand the background of the topic. Tina always came prepared to a tutoring session by asking me for my material before and already had everything worked out ahead of time allowing for the session to be smooth and get through everything and then some.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
