California State University San Bernardino (Liberal Studies- Int)
I am a substitute teacher for Palm Springs Unified School District. I started out at a long term teacher for 2/3rd grade at Bubbling Wells, I was the Reading Lab teacher at Bubbling Wells last year and this year I'm just subbing in and around the Desert Hot Springs area. If you're a student at Bubbling Wells, Julius Corsini, or Two Bunch Palms Elementary chances are I've subbed for your teacher and I've met you already! (: I love meeting new students everyday and seeing how much they've grown academically.
I have my California Teaching Credential and will have my own class when the time is right...for now I just love going around into different classrooms and meeting new students, and being their teacher for the day. It's really great stepping into a classroom and seeing the dynamics change. I love when students realize their potential and strive to be better. Even the baby steps are the greatest achievement. I do my best to remember the students I've worked with and it's great when they remember me (:
My belief is that no matter who the child is they can always do great regardless of setbacks as long as they try. I often tell the classes I teach...You have to help me, help you (:
I love reading and making reading fun. I'm a stickler for proper spelling and word usage.
I've implemented programs "Read Well" and "LANGUAGE!" at the elementary levels
Contact me to learn more about me and/or to book future lessons and see if we can work together. There are no silly questions the only silly questions are the one unasked. Hope to work with you soon (: I am a substitute teacher for Palm Springs Unified School District. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
During the year 2013-2014 I was a reading lab intervention teacher at Bubbling Wells Elementary school. I taught small groups for grades 1-5. For graded 1-3, I implemented Read Well which is a phonics awareness program. Students would segment then blend cvc words. For grades 4-5 I would implement LANGUAGE! which is focused more on fluency and grammatical practices.
