I'm currently a senior Chemical Engineering major attending the University of California, Davis. I actually transferred from Sacramento City College where I gained most of my tutoring experiences as well as I've grown to love it. For 2 years at SCC, I tutored for the math department and helped students that are in pre-algebra all the way to linear algebra. I loved helping students ever since. I also got a second tutoring job for the Science and Allied Health department and got a chance to tutor my favorite subject, chemistry, as well as some molecular biology and physics. This second tutoring job managed to land me a temporary position to be an instructional assistant for Sacramento City College. I am very proud of this achievement and I never expected to have a career in education.

Asides from being well versed in academics, I really enjoy going to the gym to work out and go on hikes. I also try to exercise my creative side by drawing, painting, calligraphy, and photography. Moreover, I enjoy cooking and baking when I have the free time. I try to teach myself something new every day because I believe that my love for helping students succeed in their courses stems from my passion for learning.

With 2 years of tutoring Calculus, I learned that every student is, of course, different when it comes to learning styles. As I work with students I try to adapt my tutoring style depending on how they learn. When it comes to subjects like calculus, I try my best to approach a concept in multiple perspectives to see which one works best for a student. These perspectives may be in the form of proof, graphical analysis, or plaining giving multiple examples or applications to ensure the student will learn the concept based on the way they learn.

Chemistry is my favorite subject. Because of this, I try my best to make other people understand the wonders of chemistry. I did exceptionally in general and organic chemistry. When I try to help students with chemistry concepts, I make sure to have concrete examples to mak
