AADA (Graduate Coursework)
I am a graduate of The American Academy Of Dramatic Arts, NYC. I am a performer member in good standing of all professional entertainment unions with over 40 years of experience working on stage, in film, television, and voice recording. My radio experience includes having produced, directed and hosted a talk show for KIEV in Los Angeles, interviewing guests and fielding questions from a call-in audience on the subject of the day. I am currently the Creator/Director of a small theatrical group, I teach an acting class, a public speaking class and work with private students in Davis, CA.
In working with my public speaking students, I include instruction in research and dynamic speech writing, audience engagement, physical appearance, relaxation, correct enunciation, voice projection and microphone technique.
I will teach/tutor all ages, from mature 12 year olds to senior adults, how to be able to speak to groups of any size.
I have over 40 years of experience auditioning, winning roles and performing in front of live audiences, studio cameras and microphones, includes having internalized all those factors that enter into successful public speaking. Working in many commercial and industrial live presentations, has also given me a unique understanding of the corporate audience and a comfort level teaching the presentation of technical subjects. I have completed additional academic studies at UCLA in Psychology, Art History, Sculpture and Advanced Screen Writing, and I am a believer in life time learning.
Whatever level of expertise you may consider yourself to be on, my student will receive positive, encouraging and caring instruction geared to move you forward to whatever goal you have in mind. I offer many unique approaches to help you advance to become the most mature, confident and self assured public speaker that you can be. I don't bark puppies, but I do lead the way to the water bottle. I am a graduate of The American Academy Of Dramatic Arts, NYC. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
