My tutoring journey began as my college education was in its final year. At the time I was tutoring Calculus, Discrete Math and Linear Algebra to small groups of students from UC Berkeley and Berkeley Community College. I realized fairly soon that I had a knack for teaching.
Upon graduation, I found work as a tutor with two reputable test preparation centers in Los Angeles (references upon request!). I am still active with one of them as an online SAT/ACT tutor.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was a part of The Learning Tree; a teaching initiative in Los Angeles that focuses on students with ADD/ADHD or Autism. I've tutored Math and English to dozens of students with learning differences.
My method begins by gathering personal, behavioral and academic information from the student. I then create, to the best of my ability, an individualized program that meets the needs of that student.
Most importantly, I remind my special needs students to focus on the possibilities that their condition opens up.
Mathematics BS from UC Berkeley.
Graduated with honors.
I've tutored many Pre-Algebra students when working with two academic centers in Los Angeles.
I work on short-term grade improvement as well as long-term theoretical knowledge to ensure a deeper understanding of the material.
