Hello,
Are you or your child having a problem in a subject? Well, my name is Eric and I'm here to help. As a Chemical Engineering major earning a double minor in Managerial Economics and Technology Management at UC Davis, I've had to take pretty much every class from Differential Equations to Philosophy, and everything in between. Trust me, I've been exactly where you are right now and I'm here to help you. Here's my story:

I graduated Roseville High School in 2011 and decided that, instead of going straight to a 4 year, I'd go to Sierra College and find out exactly who I was and what I wanted to do with my life. I found I had a knack for math, science and tutoring. I turned tutoring into a practice and have helped dozens of people over the last few years. I love what I do and find great personal fulfillment by helping people have that "oooooooh" moment when they finally discover that they had the ability to understand that subject that mystified them all along.

One of my defining philosophies is that I believe that any student has the ability to learn a subject if they are given enough time, they are comfortable with the instructor and the material is presented in a way that is practical for them. I apply these ideologies to every single session that I tutor by investing time to both get to know my students and teach them on a personal level. Many students are nervous before their first session, but afterwards find themselves excited for the next one! While knowledge is, of course, a necessity, great tutors must also be personable. I do this by breaking down the traditional teacher-student boundaries so my students are relaxed enough to start learning on a meaningful level. This methodology has led me to become one of the most successful tutors in Sacramento; I was even asked to be a guest speaker at the 2014 WyzAnt Sacramento conference in order to help teach other tutors what it is that sets my methods apart.

I fervently believe that understanding is more important than timeliness. Sometimes students take a little longer than the time slots I allot for them to understand a particularly troubling subject. While I have become very good at estimating the time necessary to cover a subject, it is not an exact science. As such, I ask all my students to be understanding of this fact and allow me a little bit of leeway on the scheduling of tutoring sessions. I will always notify you when this happen, will never bill for the time missed, and will thoroughly cover the information that your child is working on so that they can retain the same benefits.

There is an old Irish proverb that goes, "Two friends shorten a road." Understanding a new subject is difficult and often frustrating. There is something about having a friend to go through the ordeal with that makes it a little more bearable. I have found, in my personal experience, that having study groups increases the retention rate, opens the door for intellectual discussions, and shortens the time needed to understand the material, per student, for all students involved in a study group. As such, I give a 50% rate decrease, per student, for all students who sign up for a study group with me, up to 4 students. Furthermore, I give a rate of $15 per hour, per student, for all students with groups between 4 and 6.

I look forward to helping you understand that material that is confusing you and bringing you to your own personal "oooooooh" moment. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

I have an associate's degree in mathematics and have been required to take classes up to differential equations and linear algebra. What makes me a great tutor in Algebra is that I am excellent at relating the concepts of algebra to what my students will need to know in the future and how the subjects they are learning relate to real life.

I have my Associates Degree in chemistry and scored in the 93 Percentile on the American Chemical Society's National Organic Chemistry exam. This means that I am in the top 7% of understanding of all people who have taken the class. I believe that giving tactile examples for the many 3-dimensional ideas that my students encounter and many practice problems with thorough, simplified explanations is the best way to help bring students to an in-depth understanding of the material.

Knowledgeable, engaged, patient tutor.

He helped my brother write his essay and did a good job explaining the steps and going through the process slowly. This is especially good since my brother sucks at English.

Very Knowledgeable, Patient, Awesome Tutor

Eric is soo Awesome so amazing with my daughter. I'm so glad we were able to get connected with him. You can ask him anything and he can give you a definite answer. He's so in depth. His explanations are so easy to understand. My daughter is doing so much better with only 4 sessions and she really connects with him. My daughter really struggles in her math and for some reason is ashamed to open up but she actually feels comfortable and talks to him. She tells me she's very happy and gets it with him. Its Music to my ears. He's a GREAT tutor and SUPER COOL! We couldn't ask for anything better, he's the BEST!
