Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

Algebra is one of the pillars of Math. Variables such as x and y are used represent unknown numbers until their values can be determined. Fortunately, there aren’t too many things you have to memorize in Algebra. It's mainly intuitive. Once you know the techniques, you will be amazed at how powerful they can be. Topics in Algebra 1 include handling linear equations and inequalities, graphing, word problems, exponents and radicals, quadratic equations and factoring. Just let me know what you need help with.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

Certification test passed with 100% score. Algebra 2 is where you build upon the foundation established in Algebra 1. Topics include linear and quadratic equations, functions and inverses, graphing and translating, exponents, radicals and logarithms. I can help you with these. So much of Math is an application of functions and a good knowledge of Algebra will serve you well and provide an excellent foundation if you go on to take Trigonometry, Precalculus and Calculus.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

Today, for obvious safety reasons, fewer chemical experiments involving reactions are taught in the lab class. Much more of the work is theoretical. I make a point of bringing chemistry alive by describing what the chemicals look like and how the reactions proceed. Wherever possible I use visuals from selected textbooks. This makes such a difference for my students and is reflected in their success.
Geometry,

Geometry

Certification test passed with 100% score.
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

Prealgebra is the key stepping stone between Elementary Math and Algebra 1. I do not recommend skipping Prealgebra. It introduces important concepts and some aspects of Geometry that will be essential going forward. It is always best to take Math step by step and build a firm foundation. This way , you will enjoy the subject and it will benefit you greatly.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

Certification test passed with 100% score. Precalculus is, as the name suggests, a course which prepares the student for Calculus, the main pillars of which are Algebra and Trigonometry. A good knowledge of both subjects is essential for progress in Math. I have considerable experience of helping students overcome difficulties and succeed in these subjects.
SAT Math

SAT Math

Certification test passed with 100% score. I have extensive experience in tutoring all of the Math subjects that comprise SAT Math namely Pre-Algebra, Elementary Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Plane Geometry, and Trigonometry. I also try to make the experience enjoyable for my students.

ACT Math,

ACT Math

Certification test passed with 100% score. I have extensive experience in tutoring all of the Math subjects that comprise ACT Math, namely Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Coordinate Geometry, Plane Geometry, and Trigonometry. I also try to make the experience fun for my students.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

great lesson for algebra 2/trig today, a big help during this unusual time of COVID. Will definitely work with Chris again! He makes things very clear and keeps students engaged

Elena, 10 lessons with Chris

Excellent tutor !

I have three children and Chris has tutored all of them at one time (Geometry, Algebra, honors precalculus) for the past 2 years. He is extremely patient, organized and an excellent teacher from remedial to gifted students. I have tried many tutors and nobody compares to him. HM

Big help

Chris worked with my son Jake a second time with geometry. Took time to really explain the problems and made sure Jake understood the material. Jake definitely feels like he is better prepared for his upcoming midterm. We will definitely be working with Chris again.

Lisa, 5 lessons with Chris

Patient tutor

Chris helped my daughter with Algebra 2 and was very knowledgeable and patient. In the end he did an overview of the lesson. My daughter also said that she likes him, we will definitely be using him again.

Tokera, 2 lessons with Chris

Knowledgeable, patient, and great at identifying skills to use for strategy and understanding, not just memorizing

Skills and strategies, sound methodology, full grasp of material. He was innovative and helped me figure it out with him, not just didactically handing me formulas or statically teaching. Wish he was my teacher in class!

Dorothea , 6 lessons with Chris

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

This was my daughter’s first lesson with Chris, and I was truly impressed with his knowledge and ability to break down the math problems for my daughter to understand. My daughter has been struggling with Trigonometry and any discussion of Trig just stresses her out. After 10 minutes in the lesson, she was actually smiling and asking questions. She is looking forward to her next lesson.

Dionne, 9 lessons with Chris

Knowledgeable and patient

He understands what it takes to help students to get through the problems. He’s also very patient and accommodating if you need his help. My daughter had only a few sessions with him, but seemed like she’s getting it.

Christine, 25 lessons with Chris

Knowledge, patient and accommodating

Fabulous lesson. Patient and ensured that the lesson was understood. Went over concepts in a way she could understand and didn’t just supply an answer but included her in the process and why it is that way which is very helpful for her.

Keri, 4 lessons with Chris

Great tutor

Professor Chris is the person to go to for Chem and Math. He is awesome and our kids are doing much much better in school. Professor Chris is honest and really cares about his students.
