BA at CSULB (Chemistry)
I graduated from the California State University of Long Beach in Chemistry. I am working toward a teaching degree and ultimately plan to earn my teaching credential in mathematics and become a teacher. I am dedicated to assist struggling learners and help them advance with full confidence in themselves.
I am currently an Instructional Assistant and I tutor students from 6th - 12th grade in both private and group setting. I primarily tutor middle school and high school student in Mathematics (Prealgebra - Precalculus and Common Core Math).
I have previous work experience in the classroom setting and served as a peer tutor at my university math and science center. During my teaching experience, I have worked with college students who struggle in learning the basic concepts of General Chemistry I and II. When working with a student, I try to focus on their particular learning style and adapt my lessons to best fit them.
As an experienced tutor with strong background in providing services to students with diverse backgrounds, I am confident that I can help students become independent learners and develop critical thinking skills. I also try to make it an enjoyable for students by sharing study tips and test taking strategies. Most importantly, I will strive to help my students raise their grade point average. Jenn helped me review for a final and taught me important things to remember for Precalculus. We reviewed a lot of things from earlier in the semester. She helped a lot. I feel a lot better for my final.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I've taught Algebra 2 to high school honor students of different ages. Currently, I am pursuing my credential in mathematics. Overall, I believe I am qualified for this position.
I taught mathematics of all level to middle school and high school students. I very familiar with prealgrable since I have taught it before to my 6th and 7th grade students. It's also course in my credential program that I'm currently pursuing.
